Coverage of the war, casualties and factual considerations - We can no longer look or empathize with what is happening in Syria during the last years. "Escaping damascus" confronts the viewer with the Syrian civil war in a new way and wants to break up an emotional barrier.
"Escaping damascus" is about two brothers, representing many hundreds of refugees, who were fleeing from their homes in recent years. Three of the actors fled themselves from Damascus and carry a similar fate as that of the characters shown.
